This was a tough assignment.
(1) It seems that the "so as to" construction cannot handle a change in subject (from "YOU forget" to "I appear"). My default translation of "para que" is "in order to".
- There was a mistake is Spanish lyrics in the first sentence: .."y me recuerdes cuando esté lejos" for this reason I wrote "when I am far away"

however in the sentence "So as to work and to study" needs the "to", doesn't it?
- "in order to" seems more flexible in structure but I thought that it was very formal.
I have dared with a tough song, thank to your help.
I think "So as to work and study" is fine. But what you wrote was "So as NOT to forget and remember", and I thought that the additional "to" helped to clarify that the NOT applied only to "forget".
ReplyDeleteI don't think "in order to" is especially formal, but we do often use shorter forms.
So as to learn and improve, I must continue practising English.
