Learning from my mistakes

Sometimes Matt, writes to correct his mistakes. I think it's the best way to improve his spanish, and now I am going to do the same.
I will try to invent a story with my mistakes from my two latter translations.

I had seen a lot of pictures of that place. So when I arrived there I was taking photos every day. I compared my new photos with photos of that place from before.

I went to have a coffe. The waitress was very Kind and I draw her smile beside mine.

I wanted to go to visit the river. I wanted to sit down there to listen to his silence. So much to hear of his silence, I had to enjoy it.  (If I am referring to the river He or It ? I think He but I am not sure)

I asked my self what would have the rest of my life been if I hadn't gone to visit of that place.

Never will leave that place, because It's where I enjoy of the pleassures of the life.

When I go out to walk I never find that place. I looked for it but very far from here.

    (1) I would use "latter" only when there is a clear distinction between the "former" and the "latter".

    (2) I don't know what you meant by this.
