Marketing? Publicity?

Some days ago, I read in the newspaper, a piece of news about a woman who had bought a dress in a very know shop. When the woman was at her home, she was surprised whe she saw in the dress' label a text the following message: ( more or less, I don't remember the message) this clothe has been done with young people, most of them overworked and under paid.
Suddenly, that woman went to the store to show them her dress. Before going to the store, she had been in touch with a newspaper to tell her story.
In the moment that the piece of news was in all newspapers, tv or mass media, the manager of the store promised to investigate the origin ot that message.
They told that someone had manipulated that label.
But I wonder my self, if you buy a cheap dress and it has been made in Asia. Why most of the textil factories are located there? Of course because they have to pay less money than if they had their factories in Europe, America ....
It was a Marketing campaing? or Publicity campain? Or it was true.
We can't fight agains all that abuse because most of the clothes that we wear have been made there. It's a pity.

Upbringing

I think this is the word I am looking for. I believe that education and good manners should be implicit in growing up or development of each person. Unfortunately, sometimes instead of upbringing we have "down-bringing".

I will attempt to illustrate what I mean with something of imagination.

Imagine that you are in another country. People who live there is normal people and you are a strange, and not on the contrary.

Imagine an idilic place in the nature with a wonderful weather. In that place everything is beautiful and everything is care and tidy until the last detail. Tables and benches, litter bins, fireplaces for roasting, recreational areas for children, etc. A comfortable place in the middle of the prettiest and savage nature.

Imagine three or four families with children. The tableclothes on the stone or on the wood, parents chatting and preparing food, children away, playing, shouting and laughing, the soft sound of the river at the back of the spectacular scenery.

In this, suddenly, everybody turns the head, there is a deafening noise. From five vehicles surface a lot of people. Different people, people from a different country with differents features. They are speaking loud, almost screaming because of the loud music which comes from a car. These people are carrying cool boxes, bags with food, tableclothes, blankets; folding chair, tables and sunloungers. They are quickly taking up all empty spaces. It reminds of Normandy landings. It seems an invasion.

They only speak among them. They only look at their faces, the rest of the people (those strange beings) seem not to exist. They show a total indifference to them. They command all the interest, all the attention. All eyes were on they but they were ignoring this fact.

In a few minutes, all the camp was made and...the icing of the cake..., they began to dance. The music, better "the noise", was like salsa or something like that. The movements were of a very bad taste. Judging by their howls of laughter, they seemed to be enjoying it a lot...And We?.  We had to pick up our things and go to another place a bit further.  A little sad, right?.

Interpreting the Reality

These last days while I was working (in a repetitive and monotonous work, like the majority in a factory) I thought in an issue which lately has been giving a lot of laps in my head (or: has been going round my head) \\ An English speaker, How would tell it?.

Well, the subject matter was the civil servants and the public sector.

In the Christmas season sometimes we met with my wife's family and others times with mine. It turns out that in my "in-laws" there are several civil servants. Some of them in the field of Health and others in Education. Well, their way of interpret the economic measures that the Government is adopting differs a lot of from mine.

I can say that I had the chance of hearing a couple of "philosophical pearls". My sister in law (public nurse) exclaimed: "I passed my professional exam ... "in its moment, evidently"... and this entitles me to all that we had achieved ..."the hard-working trade unionists, of course".


The another, well, actually a series of eloquences, came from a female cousin of my wife. She is English teacher in a Language School and to her all cutting measures in education  are a plot against "The Public" by the Government "conservative, of course".

My opinion is that then there was a reality and now there is another very different. Now we can not afford what we could afford before.

The moral of this story is how different can be the interpretation of reality according the "interest of the beholder".

Are you ready USA?

After 4 years, the final countdown is coming. Tomorrow, USA will vote between 2 options. Obama vs Romney. Who will win the election? Who knows. I am sure of one of them ;)
I don't want to talk about politic, I only want to make a reflection.
Our world is living a hard crisis. Whereas in Europe, we are through a big economical crisis, in USA or in another countries ( In South America, Asia ...) are out this critical situation. Everybody wants the best for themselves, for they countries.
I only want to tell two things, I don't mind who will win the election, I know the loser will be proud of his president, because his country is the first. Perhaps the winner will do things of different way than the other but at the end their target will be the same. The pride of his country.

Changes

Today I have readen a post from BBC:

"The biggest reason I'm here is because of the opportunity, plain and simple."

Rising numbers of people of Indian origin born in the West are moving "back" to the country their parents left decades ago.

What do you thinm about this?

Are we willing to change our lifes?

Before, mainly in the last century, people used to migrate abroad to find new opportunities, new lifes .....

Now, due to the economical crisis period, things are changing. Where ( before) there weren't opportunities, now we can find them there. People are moving to their background to find a new life, to live in the country of their forefathers. Is it curious isn't it? But more curious is that european people have to move to these countries to find their opportunities. Before these countries hadn't got anything, however, now we can find more opportunities to develop our carees. 

Befere not everybody was willing to move in but now,.... Are we willing to change our lifes to find another better life?

I am thinking about it, and believe me, it's frankly curious. 

Again!!

From the outset of the last September we are going through a weird period. If we follow the word news, we can noticed the new revival called nationalism. This movement is not new, is older than the world. I we read the spanish news Catalonia, if we read british news Scotland, by the way this one in one year later will vote if they want to be separated of the United Kingdom. Catalonia in Spain is thinking in the same way. But this movement is not new, as I wrote before. Is it a strategy? Why? Frankly, we don't know if it is or not a strategy. In my interior thoughts, I think that it is a strategy.
Few years ago, we saw as the ancient URSS change and then appeared new states. These new states were born to flee to the sovietic system. ( Comunism system)
I will never understand these new movements. ¨When everybody wants to be united.  Is there a strategy behind to hide the real economical problems? If all these "new states" will want to be independent why they want to be part of the European Community? Are they using to the people to behind the real problems? Are the people a toy? Can they manage the behaviour of the people? The citizens want solutions, no more problems.
It is said that the History repeats, is like a ball? never stops spinning.
Only the future will let us know what will happen. Let's wait for !!!!

Old Times ... New Times ..... Is it the same story?

This September has been a bit strange. On the one hand we began the month, remembering the tragedy of 11 September , on the other hand, if we read spanish news and we see or study the spanish situation is when I can afirm that this month has been pretty strange.
When I was child, and I was in the school, i had a subjetct named History. I could study that in the end of the XVIII Century, ( more or less, I think it was S XVIII , sorry if I am wrong) a new movement was born. It was called nationalism. New countries, new feelings .... but now in the XXI Century this movement has more strong. Cataluña, a spanish region or area, wants to do a referendum (elections) to decide if they want to separate of Spain. They don't want to be spainish but they want to be europeans citizens. OMG!!!! Terrible thoughts.  Somebody can understand it? , Frankly, in the actual situation I think, and it's my opinion, we have a lot of stuff to do, to solve our actual situation, before attending these new movements. Another movement, 25 S is asking changes and solutions to our actual situation.
Are you agree with me that this month has been a bit strange?

It's only my opinion. Perhaps I am wrong or not , I don't know. But I think we have to solve our actual situation, involving and working all spanish people ( spaniards) together.

Pirates and adventures

The second Monday in October is celebrated the Columbus’ Day. But today, I am not going to talk about Columbus but about another pioneer on exploring America. His name was Leif Ericksson, this Norse explorer sailed to the Northern East coast of North America. It happened at about one thousand years ago. This is what is now known as Canada but He named the land "Vinland" at that time. He and his crew were originally from Greenland. Experts, during the 1960’s, founded a village and houses like those in Norway and Iceland. But they only established a few settlements but not permanents.

Another explorer who I want to mention today is Juan Ponce de León. He was a spanish man. He adventured to the land of what we know as Florida. An interesting thing here, it is that he was looking for an especial kind of water which could make old people young again. At that time, many people in Europe believed so. Nevertheless, He never found such prodigious water. In fact, the movie Pirates of the Caribbean, On Stranger Tides, is based partly on this story.      

I can't understand!!!!

10 months ago, two little children mysteriously disappeared while they were playing in a park with his father. I remembered another child from UK who disappeared in Portugal while she was slepping and her parents were having dinner. Both cases are differents. But for months the father of these two childs was the prime suspect. He denied his culpability, and he wanted a solution. The mother too. Both were separated. As the children were with his father, and he was the prime suspect, he was in prision for these months. Last week, and thanks to the mother of these childre, a new report told that the father wasn't the suspect, he was the guilty of the crime. It is said, that both children were killed and burned by their father to avoid supection. Never had I thought that a father would commit such crime. A father has to love and care for his children.
When I am writing this post I am thinking that this would be a novel, or a film, but not my friends it's true. Regrettable, there are people who haven't got any sensibilty. This person has to pay for his crime, not only for his children's murder but also for all costs that he has caused. I think to my self: Should he keep in the jail for all his life? In this case I have to pay all his cost with my taxes... What would be his best punishment? I don't know.
I wish this were the last crime !

Olympic Games of Thrones...

Before the falling of the USSR, Olympics were intended to show each 4 years what country / what system was better; capitalism vs. comunism were tested bearing in mind the number of gold medals USA and USSR got. Dope technologies were developed to support this propaganda.

Wu Minxia, chinese sportwoman in London 2012, was notified that her grandmather had died during her training for the games months ago and her mother has been suffering from a cancer after wining 2 gold medals in London 2012. She wasn't been notified before to avoid a lack of concentration during the training. China started a program to pass USA olympics medals during Beijing 2008 Games. In 4 years (from Athenas 2004 to Peking 2008) China doubled its medals, from 63 to 110 in Beijing.

Many efforts have been done to control doping. But reading the story of Wu Minxia, it seems to be that drugs has been replaced by psychological technologies, that are invisible to drug test, but perhaps could be as damageful to the sportsmen as doping.

Only time will tell.

What is happening in our society?

It happened two or three weeks ago. I was listening to the radio when suddenly in the news, the journalist began to talk about a serious incident in a cinema of a city of USA. This piece of news had a strong impact not only in the American society but also in the rest of the world. Everyone cried for this incident. Obama cried too.

I wonder myself what is happening in our society. Why the actors, the new heros ( a lot of times irreal characters) are converted like example for our young people? Where is the problem? Is the problem in our education system? or in the families? I don't know but in my opinion, I haven't found any explanation.

Everybody know that famous characters are a marketing product. And I think there is the main problem. A lot of times, people who have to sell a film, a character .... never think about the future repercussions in our society. I think, in the schools and in the families, everybody have to talk about the danger of these characters.... but both ways have to go together.

Yesterday I was watching this film. shots shots shots.... someone thought that he would be able to do real shots.... at the end .... everybody know the result.

Never had I thought that an irreal film with irreal characters would have serious consecuences in our society. Remember Batman is batman. Never has existed.

Think about this.

Rural depopulation

Today Saturday we have gone for a trip. The content or excuse was a lunch for which previously you had to be registered. But, the main reason was to give something of life to a region consisting of fourteen very small villages. This region is named Camero Viejo. The meal has been celebrated in the smaller one, Hornillos. In winter the population is about four families. In Summer grows until fifty people.
It is perhaps a common phenomenon in other Spanish regions and even in other countries. People wants the city comodities, sacrificing, in exchange, peace and quiet and to live surrounded by a wonderful countryside.

This is normal. In winter living conditions are very harsh.

The event has been a succes. People in August are ready to leave home for any excuse at weekends. According to organizers, among whom were our friends, we have come about a thousand people.
We all have had a really good time, but the really sad is that the majority of these small villages are doomed to extinction.

It is sad, but life is like that.

More war, and "All the bullets ricochet!!"

Today, I was watching television in english of course. Personally, I do not watch TV in order to spend time but to learn English. Well, the simple fact of the matter is this...
I was watching a program about materials and tools of war. They were talking about an especial bullet proof glass cube. This is often used to build especial cars for presidents or VIP people, like the current Pope. But also It is used on big football stadiums, like the Barcelona Stadium. There, they have a bullet proof glass for important people too, so they can enjoy the match inside. From high up in the stands they can watch everything safely.
Also in that video, I could learn the phrase: "But all their bullets ricochet". This is a very interesting sentence because, I did not know the word RICOCHET.
There, they also proved TITANIUM but is a heavy and expensive material. The titanium was fired away with a powerful war rifle and endured the bullets. They tested the TI with a Machine Gun and even so, all the bullets were halted. It is a good material and with it they have nothing to lose, except for money. 
Of course, Kevlar was mentioned several times, but that is a topic for another entry, he!.  

Sentences and Story

Hello, How is all going on? Today, I have many sentences and a short story.

Sentences:
I am being useful of somehow.
I am not in/of a good mood.
I am awful with new languages, I always get lost at new words.
Is Belarus language resembled to another language from near by?
They always mix some words and invent new words as well. It applies to people who learn English like a second language and have Spanish like native language.
Have you seen a video on youtube that likes you?
I prefer the video which showed the photos meanwhile.
I recall a teacher vividly.
That was the pleasentest year that I let in that school.

Story:
I heard a story about war on the BBC World Service today.
It was a about a private of the 2nd World War. He was called Bringg Roberts or somethng like that. Like most of the prisoners of war he was took away to a camp. Fortunately, he survived because of he knew three languages, German and Polish and English. He was responsible for the translations. Hehe, lucky guy.
There, we have one more example about why is so important learning another language. It can saves your life in war times.

Sentences "y otras hierbas".

Hello everyone, This is Juampy here.
Many people think that learning to write a new language is very difficult. Surely, they are right but today I refuse to give up. I know that this is pretty tough, but I do not care how long it takes me. Although I have to learn from my mistakes, I want to try it anyway!!!. So, keep calm and carry on!!!.
Well, I have decided to practice interesting and useful sentences:

Even though, It was not fair.

Finally, I have finished writing my script, bye for now.

Crazy times

I suppose it's the force of the influence of TV, cinema, the internet, the social networks, etc. There have always been crazy murderers. But, their motivations or their mental disorders, I think were different.
The terrible recent event in Denver suggests to me that in the "virtual world", the silliness and irrationality is exceeding its limits, which is confusing the young. Is the world, already, very disoriented?. Unfortunately, I think we are in the wrong way.
