Steve Jobs - Biography

I've just read the Biography of Steve Jobs.
I knew little things about Steve Jobs. He was the founder of Apple Company. One of the most important industries in the world.
He began in a small garage and soon his company was the leader of the New Technology Industry.
Not all in his life was a easy way, he had to cope with a lot of problems, he was laid off his own company. He founded another one and he had success.. He came back to Apple and he relaunched the company.
He had vision, He believe in his thoughts and in the people who was around him. He saw or though so far, and he always wanted the best for his custormers always basing on desing and technology. I think he is a revolutionary and an example to follow.Once he launched his product, he was thinking in the next product, with more different things, He wanted to be different to the rest of the technology industry, but most of times he was faked, but he kept thinking in new advantages to offer in his new devices.
Although it isn't mentioned in the book, I want to remember that words in a graduation at Standford University in 2005 : Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish

But like a sumarize of his life I would like to define him with 5 NEVERS:
Never Give up
Never feing
Never keep immobile
Never Stopo dreaming

I think, If we act without any ambition, our word would be different. Better.

After writing “Or the Bulls kill you” and “A death in Valencia”, both of them set in Valencia, Jason Webster carries on telling us crime stories with “The Anarchist Detective”, his  third detective book. In this captivating book, Jason Webster tells us an intriguing story which  is set in Albacete.

Being on leave after his last case, Max Cámara, a police inspector and the main character of the book, decides to go to his home town, Albacete, where he was brought up by his grandfather, Hilario, a very intelligent person whose main features are to be extremely frank and do things by gut feelings. Arriving Max in Albacete two events, which strike his chord, are happening. One of them is the exhuming of his grand-grandfather’s corps, dead after the Spanish Civil War, from a mass grave and the other one is the murder of a fifteen-year old girl, Mirella Faro, murdered in the same way that his older sister, Concha, was thirty years ago. This is something Max has not been able to get out of his head  and carries heavily with him from then on. Decided to find out more about Mirella’s murder, Max is involved in a saffron scam, which is taken place in Pozoblanco, a nearby village, famous for being ruled as a small Republic by its Mayor.  

I must confess that the way the author describes  the way Pozoblanco is ruled is a bit implausible for me. Maybe the aim of the author is to show the reader that, even in left-wing parties, there are people suitable to be bribed.

While reading the book, what has surprised to me the most, is the extraordinary knowledge about the Spanish culture and customs that the author shows in its pages, what makes its reading very familiar to the Spanish readers. The book tackles current Spanish issues, as the Law of Historical Memory, which still remains on the news, and points out the reader how deeply rooted is Jason Webster to the Spanish society.

Wonder

I had never read a book like this, "Wonder", what a beautiful word. A beautiful word the author uses to describe us a wonderful person, with a brilliant mind and a big heart inside his chest. R.J.Palacio, tells us the story of a little boy, August, who has not had an easy life and childhood from his birth due to his deformed face.

August is a boy who has always been living surrounded and overprotected by his loving family due to his physical problems. He was born with several deformities on his face as a consequence of genetic problems. He has suffered twenty seven surgeries but, in spite of that, August is not happy with his physical appearance and feels the looks of the people wherever he goes.

August has been home-schooled by his mother, but his parents decide that he has to start going to school. At the beginning, he feels kind of terrified and does not want to go but his family finally convince him, in spite of his fears.

The course starts and he can feel both sides of friendship. On the one hand the real friendship of Jack and Summer who help him from the very beginning and, on the other hand, a fake friendship leaded by Julian, who has two faces, a good one to the teachers and a cruel one while talking to August in front of the other kids.

Time goes by, and August character, courage, kindness, and brightness makes him gain the respect of  all his classmates and teachers. These traits joined to all love he has breathed in his life makes him a special person, a wonderful person who everybody wants to know, who everybody wants to be with.

As a way of reflection, I would like to tell you that I wish I had the opportunity to meet  August too. I am sure that we would be good friends. While I was going through this unputdownable book,  I could feel on my own how he felt and rivers of tears run down my cheeks. This book makes me think that there are lots of Augusts in the world, very close to us, and we should not miss out on the opportunity to help them to feel ordinary and happy, the only thing we have to do is to be kinder than is necessary.

La historia continúa, La sangre de los inocentes.

La mujer que se llama Inge es la hija de padres que son miembros del partido Nazi.  Inge tenía un novio comunista y el bebé es suya pero su novio ha desaparecido también y su familia le ha abandonado a ella debido a su opinión política.  Ella se propone a Ferdinand que se queda con ella mientras está buscando a su mujer.   Durante los días siguientes, Ferdinand va a la embajada francés para pide ayuda, pero le dicen que lo único que pueden hacer es dan información sobre su mujer a la policía, pero realmente, no tienen esperanza de encontrarla.  Después de preguntar a todos los amigos judío de la tía, que aún no han desaparecido y también hacer consultas en la estación de trenes para averiguar si alguien recuerda una mujer francesa que había llegado a la estación, pero sin éxito, nadie no recuerda nada y Ferdinand da cuenta que debe volver a francia.  También el Conde le llama Ferdinand desde Francia y es muy impaciente y quiere que Ferdinand continúe con su trabajo con los pergaminos.  Ferdinand vuelve a Francia y continúa con su trabajo y cuando su compañera de trabajo,que es judía, le dice a él que va a ir a Palestina porque ella teme por su vida, entonces Ferdinand quiere que ella le lleva con ella a su hijo.

La sangre de los inocentes

La historia continua.  El Conde quiere que un profesor de historia examine los pergaminos que ha heredado. Él quiere que el profesor los investigue para averiguar si son auténticas y el Conde organiza una reunión con sus amigos influyentes, uno de ellos es un Barón Alemán.  El Conde es de la opinión que puede haber tesoro escondido y también él y sus compañeros creen que los pergaminos sostienen una pista de la locación del santo grial. Ellos quieren que el profesor encontre la pista, pero realmente el profesor no le importa el tesoro ni el santo grial, su único intrés es en los pergaminos.  Mientras tanto la mujer del profesor que es judia recibe noticias de Alemania que su tía ha desaparacida.  (Es la época justo antes la segunda guerra mundial)  Ella quiere ir a alemania en busca de su tía y le convence a su marido que ella debe ir a Alemañia para encontrar a su tía.  Después de algunos días el profesor no sabe nada de su esposa y quiere ir a Alemania para encontrar a su esposa y también la tía.  Él pide ayuda del Conde pero él es muy reticente a dar ayuda por sus conexiones con los Nazis.

Cuando llega al Alemania encontró que la librería, que era propiedad de la tía, ha sido destruida.  Él está buscando por las ruinas de la librería cuando una mujer joven con un bebé se acerca y se le cuenta que pasó que un grupo de camisas pardas habían actacado a la tía y se habían destruida la librería.  Ésta mujer que se llama Inge trabajaba para la tía en la librería antes de que fue destruida.  Os diré más sobre Inge próxima vez.

La Sangre De Los Inocentes

He terminado el libro que se llama El Alquimista, lo que  llevé a España cuando estuve de vacaciones.  Me gustó mucho, fue muy fácil de entender.  He leído dos libros escritos por Paulo Coelho y ambos han sido muy facíl de seguir, y cuando termine el libro que tengo ahora, voy a buscar más libros de Paulo Coelho.  Antes de ir de vacaciones compré un libro que se llama La Sangre De Los Inocentes.  La primera parte es un poco difícil de seguir porque la historia tiene lugar en el siglo XIII y estoy segura que se ha sido escrito en una manera antigua.  Bueno, la primera parte es sobre la lucha entre cátaros y católicos.  Me alegro de que es un libro, porque si fuera una película no podría verla debido a la violencia.  Mucha gente muere bajo los órdenes de Fray Ferrer en las llamas de las hogueras porque no quieren cambiar  su religión a la de católica, y toda la historia esta crónica por otro fray, él quiere que un día, en el futuro, todos sepan lo que pasó.

He empecé la segunda parte y la siglo ha cambiado a 1939. Ahora la historia es más fácil de seguir.  Un conde se ha encontrado rollos de pergamino que estaban escondidos en un castillo.  Asi la historia sigue.......

Restless

This is the last book I've just read.
I've written a summary but it's too long. Sorry about that.

I had never  read a book about spies. This book, in my opinion, tells us about how important were the Secret Services at the beginning of the Second War World, which members were hidden in newspapers, radio stations or the most unexpected places, in order to make governments and countries take important and transcendental actions by publishing or broadcasting false news.

Everything starts when Eva Delectorskaya, a beautiful 28-year-old Russian woman, is recruited by a mysterious man, Lucas Romer, who belongs to the British Secret Service (BSC). At first she does not want to accept but in the end he strikes her a chord by telling her that his brother, Kolia, who belongs to the BSC too, has just died in an important mission. Eva accepts to be enrolled in the BSC because she thinks that this will be a perfect way to revenge his death.

Eva is hard trained, she is very clever and can speak three languages and, after a short training time, she becomes a master of all spy tricks. Romer is very proud of her so she soon starts working for a BSC false broadcasting company in Belgium as a journalist.

After several successful missions in different countries, Eva is sent to the USA, which were not involved in the Second World War yet, to fulfill what, in Romer’s words, ‘was going to be her most difficult and important mission’. Eva’s work consists in trying to give, through different couriers, a new distribution of South America’s territories map which has been drawn by the Germans to the President of the United States, Eleanor Roosevelt in order to make the USA feel threatened by the belief that the Germans were going to take over South America and, in this way, make them involved in the war and help the other allies to beat the German Army.

Eva is about to be killed. At first he doesn’t know what has happened but little by little she puts things together and with the help of some BSC friends she finds out some evidences that point out that Romer, who is her boss and lover, turns out to be a Russian agent.

Eva flees. From now on Eva’s life is restless. She is always looking at her back looking for shadows, trying to hide her identity, going here and there. Finally she goes to Ireland where he meets her husband, rebuilds her life and starts to plan her revenge.

Eva has a daughter, Ruth. When she is a grown up Eva, who is now in her seventies, explains Ruth about her life. Firstly Ruth doesn’t believe anything but in the end, her mother gives her a manuscript which contains her whole secret life in detail.

Ruth finds Romer’s address, now Lord Mansfield, following her mother pieces of advice and they both go there together in the middle of a dark night. When Romer sees Eva, he doesn’t show any gesture of surprise and he even threats Eva by telling her  that she is still a traitor to her country. Despite of feeling threatened by him Eva knows that Romer feels defeated. He has a good position in the British Society and now Eva was going to tell everybody that he was a traitor and a Russian spy. Romer feels the pressure on his shoulders and that very night he commits suicide.

I have found this book very interesting because I have learnt how important decisions can be influenced by the actions of cunning spies and consequently how much power they had. I think that now things have no changed too much. They are even more powerful due to the development of electronic devices that allow them to get inside the entanglement of Governments’ structures.
