In 1905, a hydroelectric company built a pathway of 3 km through the gorge of the Guadalhorce River near the Malaga town of El Chorro so that its workers could arrive to their jobs.
But this narrow trail is in disrepair ridden with holes, so you have to go crazy to try crossing this walkway and, of course, it is imposible if you have fear to heights.
It's terrible the massive drop next to you at the notorious hairy cliff, in some sections the path is missing and you need to scramble over rocks.
It's not that really difficult, it's actually a mental challenge. It's not that a lot physical effort but it's better not looking down.
Currently crossing down the trail is illegal but there are always braver people, experimented climbers or not, willing to attempt to undertake the pathway by dodging lurking police and to complet the cliff-hanged feat. And without forgetting the fines of up 6000€ for trespassers in a close watch zone.There are unfortunately death cases there.
However, the president of Malaga province has announced a safe and refurbished pathway for January 2015.

(1) Great title.
* Great vocabulary.
That trail is amazing.
Thank you, Matt, I enjoyed writing this entry. I have been there but I haven't made the trail. The landscape is spectacular.
