Festival of San Mateo

Today have started the festival of San Mateo. These are the most important festivities of my city. They take place in the calendar week which includes the day on September 21, the day dedicated to the apostle in the calendar of saints' days.
Are markedly popular festivities, which dates back to the twelfth century, and that, since 1956, carried the nickname of Vintage Festival, given the proximity to the dates of grape harvest in a land marked by wine.
For us, the end of this week is the true beginning of course, the end of the summer and the beginning.... of the routine of every year.

Well done, Eduardo. I think "festival" and "festivities" were fine.

  5. Ivan, Laurel street is nice! you can taste a lot of "tapas" (pintxos) ( My favourite Champis from Soriano's hause umm delicious .... , and the eggs with chorizo before you could find in Simpatia's house or bar, now is closed but you can find nex to the old bar) and the wine you can drink is delicious, it depends on the price that you are willing to pay, of course, I prefer Gran Reserva . These are my favourites wines, but I am afraid that in San Mateo Festivals are imposible to find them, so Young wine or Crianza. but please, not Don Simon Wine please!

  6. I'm sorry. I wanted add some photos but it seems that I can't or I don't know, in a reply.
Javier lives in a neighboring city which I know well and it seems, he knows mine very well too.
A lot of young people (students, much of them) come to my town at the weekends to attend a street (actually a portion of the old town) packed with bars in which, apart of a drink, you can enjoy of countless "tapas" or "pinchos".
There are several areas like this in other cities in northern Spain, but, perhaps because of its situation geofráfica the Logroño' area has become more popular.

    2. Thanks Matt. I will try TO ADD some photos in another occasion. (this matter of "to" is an outstanding issue for me).

"geofráfica": I wanted to check the spelling in the dictionary and I forgot it.
