Would you like to be famous?

Who has never thought about being famous in his or her life?

I think that this is a question the majority of people have asked themselves in their life. I believe that people should become famous by the awards, discoveries or facts that come throughout their whole life or trajectory.

Nowadays, TV programs, especially reality programs, have been broadcast all over the world making ordinary people believe that they might become famous in a short period of time, getting the success they have not been able to get in their real life.

Generally talking  people who are famous spend their lives doing what they want to do, so I strongly believe that this is the main advantage for them. There are more subsidiaries advantages as, for example, earning big amounts of money, what helps them to enjoy life without being worried about their bank account. Most of them give money to Charity and NGO’s what represents another advantage for the whole society.

On the other hand, famous people are always chased by paparazzi and press. This constant chasing provokes the loss of their privacy and intimacy which, in my opinion, is the most important disadvantage of being famous. In addition famous people are always judged for everything they do, it doesn’t mind if they are right or wrong, so they are always subjected to an additional pressure.

To sum up, being famous has both advantages and disadvantages. Everything depends on how they behave. Famous people who show the rest of the world what they do only for form’s sake are not worth. It is not necessary to tell everybody if they do this or that to help people, but unfortunately there are lots of this kind of famous people. I am positive that if they sometimes did not think of themselves they would not be neither criticized nor judged by us.

Well done, Vicent. The ones that bother me the most are those who are famous only for being famous. But I do not envy any famous person. I think the minuses outweigh the pluses. "Fame and fortune" is a common phrase.
