Celebrations and friendship

Last Friday I was having dinner with eight of my closer classmates. The purpose of this dinner was to celebrate the end of the classes and why not, to strengthen our friendship bonds.

There were some people that couldn’t come because of personal problems and I have to confess that I missed them a lot, but I’m sure that they’ll come to our next barbecue. Angie told us that maybe it could be celebrated in her house, so I strongly believe that everyone is looking forward to the idea of having a dinner or lunch there wearing informal clothes and surrounded by good friends.

Alicante’s leisure places were overcrowded so we couldn’t hardly find a seat at any place to have a drink.  It was very difficult to walk in the old town, a very trendy place in Alicante. We elbowed from pub to pub in the middle of an immense amount of people that were standing in front of the pubs’ doors in order to get out of this area.

I couldn’t believe my eyes how many people there were, especially teenagers. Yesterday I was told that they were celebrating the end of the classes too but I have to tell you that most of us don’t like overcrowded places so maybe we’ll arrange our next meeting more carefully, I mean not to  coincide our meeting date with other celebrations in the city.

I think that we had a great time and I’m sure that these kinds of celebrations are necessary to know people better. You can’t imagine how people can surprise you. I love these kinds of experiences in which people, who you have an opinion of them drew in your mind, can make you feel you astonished when you get deeply in their lives. It’s interesting, isn’t it?

    *Great verb.

**or: of whom you have an opinion drawn in your mind

Yes, Vicent, it is interesting and I agree with you. People are multi-dimensional and we often see only part of them in a particular setting.
