The Drummer Boy

The path that takes to Bethlehem
goes down up to valley that the snow covered,
the little shepherds want to see their king,
they bring gifts in their old bags.

The child God has just been born.
I would want to put on your feet
some present which is pleasure for you , Sir.
plus, you know I am a poor man too
and I only possess an old drum, "ropo pompom, ropo pompom"
In your honor, I will play with my drum.

The path that takes to Bethlehem
while I am setting the pace with my old drum,
there is nothing better that I can offer you,
its hoarse accent is a love singing "ropo pompom, ropo pompom"
When God watched me playing opposite to him,
he smiled me.

    (1) "Hoarse accent" is poetic; "harsh/rough sound" would be more normal.
