Black Friday and let's start again

Vocaroo Voice Message(comments about pronunciation can be interesting)
The bigger your purchases are, the happier you are, in others words, If you want to reach the happiness, go shopping!. This is the continuous message subliminal launched by advertising. Marketing plans our lives around shopping. Our parents, our family, our sons are expecting gifts. It is offensive to flee and your reputation is in danger. Is it possible to break free?. The power of trade is infinity. Just look to China, they begin to celebrate Christmas now, for first time. Black  Friday is just come to Europe this year, Halloween and Valentine's day came to Spain long time ago. I only hope to survive  again these Christmas.

  1. I agree with you, Roberto.
Our society is losing all their ancient traditions. Now the Christmas' sense is to buy after Christmas Sales, Love day, Father day , East Holidays, mother's day, weedings .... .all our events are around a purchase or a celebration in a restaurant. But behind of these events, there are traditions that we are going to lose. In the past, everybody was happy with small things, now all is diferent. Spain like the rest of Europe, is importing all american events. With permission from Matt, and all american guys. Marketing policies are finding big holes in Europe to create new purchasing behaviours. I hate all these days because we are losing, o we have lost all the sense. The most important thing in this life is your family, friends, and it looks to be that the most important thing is the money and the things that with it you can buy to be happier.

On the recording, overall it is very good. You could improve these words:
    pURchases
    lAUnched (lAUnchT) (one syllable)
    reputation (repYutation)
    infinite (inn-finn-itt)
    ChriSTmas

  4. Thank you very much, Matt. Your information is very useful to improve. Meeting to other people thinking the same things, I feel less strange man, so thank you Javier. There is only one thing that we lack, it is your point of view, Matt.(smile)

  5. OK, I'll take up the challenge, and try to expand your vocabulary at the same time... I have been well aware of the tireless onslaught of advertising for a long time. In fact, many would say that I am a zealot when it comes to preventing its tyranny. I watch very little TV; I listen to commercial-free radio; I discard the advertising sections of the newspaper as soon as it comes in the house. My mindset is that my attention is precious, and I try not to throw pearls to swine.

As for losing our traditions, well, that is up to us. We don't have to read or watch all those ads, and allow them to dull our consciences. We can stay home on the day after Thanksgiving and relish the company of our families and a day of recreation (notice that I didn't use the popular name for that day). We can revive the old traditions (and that might involve rediscovering the faith behind them).

Perhaps we can stomach the commercial excess of the season by remembering what my priest said the other day during Mass... Let the extravagance of this season remind you of the extravagance of God, who came to us as a child 2000 years ago -- now that's an extravagance that can't be beat!

Did I offer you any new words or expressions?

  6. Eres un máquina(informal expression that mean you are extremely good at doing something). Sorry you have stopped in the most exciting moment. There are many important vocabulary. Feel free to always express your interesting opinion. Thanks again.
