I could hardly [] reach up to where I was. I was aware of it as much as I was also AWARE THAT IT MIGHT NEVER BE BETTER THAN now. But I LACKED something. What was it? Why WAS I having that empty feeling? I was denying the evidence, I knew, but I couldn't bear the reality, and my selective memory helped me to it.
